How do I turn my Arlo Go camera's LED on or off?

By default, your Arlo Go camera's LED shows the state of the camera. If you do not want the LED to light—for example, if you want your camera to attract less attention in an outdoor location—you can change your camera's settings using the following instructions. You can choose to either turn off your camera's LED completely, or only turn off certain indicators.

If you turn off your camera's LED, the LED remains off until you turn it back on again.

Turning the LED off has no effect on the faint red glow from the Arlo Go camera's night vision infrared LEDs. To eliminate the red glow, you must turn off night vision. Turning off night vision substantially reduces the quality of videos taken in low light. For more information about turning night vision on or off, see How do I turn my camera's night vision on and off in my Arlo app?.

Note: Turning the LED off might make it more difficult for you to troubleshoot problems with your Arlo Go camera.

To turn your Arlo Go camera's LED on or off:

  1. Launch the Arlo app or log in to your Arlo account at my.arlo.com.
  2. Tap or click Settings > My Devices.
  3. Select the Arlo Go camera for which you want to turn the LED on or off.
  4. If you want to turn off the LED completely, tap or click the slider next to LED ON/OFF.
If you use this slider to turn off the LED completely, it automatically turns off the other three LED options listed below.
Note: If you choose to turn the LED off completely, you are unable to use the LED for troubleshooting until you turn it back on in the Arlo app.
  5. If you want to turn on or turn off the LED that lights while the camera is powering on, tap or click the slider next to Boot LED.
  6. If you want to turn on or turn off the LED that lights when the camera battery is fully charged, tap or click the slider next to Fully Charged Indicator.
  7. If you want to turn on or turn off the LED that lights when the camera is providing status alerts, tap or click the slider next to Status LED.
Your Arlo Go camera uses the LED to alert you of problems or status changes such as the following: when the battery is low, when the SIM card is damaged, when a firmware update is happening, when your camera cannot connect to the mobile network.
