How do I connect my Arlo device directly to a WiFi router?

When you first set up your Arlo camera, you have the option to connect the camera directly to your WiFi router or to an Arlo SmartHub or base station. You can use the Arlo app to connect directly to your WiFi router.

Before you begin:

• Your mobile device must be connected to your 2.4 GHz WiFi network, and you must connect your Arlo camera to the same 2.4 GHz WiFi network. For more information, visit How do I connect my mobile device to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network to set up my Arlo camera?.
• When your Arlo camera is not connected to an Arlo SmartHub or base station, you can’t store Arlo recordings to a local storage device.

To connect your Arlo camera directly to your 2.4 GHz WiFi network:

1. Launch the Arlo app on iOS or Android.
2. Tap Add New Device.
3. Select your Arlo camera.
4. Do one of the following:
   • If the Arlo app detects that you have a SmartHub or base station, tap Connect without SmartHub.
   • Tap Continue on the “Connect to a 2.4 GHz network” screen.
5. Follow the instructions in the Arlo app to finish setting up your device.
