How can I optimize mobile connectivity for my Arlo Go camera?
To optimize LTE connectivity for your Arlo Go camera:
- Check your service provider’s data coverage map for the area in which you want to use your Arlo Go.
Note: Cellular coverage, including LTE coverage, fluctuates based on network traffic and weather conditions. If you place your Arlo Go camera near the edge of a coverage area, your connection weakens or drops whenever the mobile network is carrying a lot of traffic in that area. Heavy rain, thunderstorms, and high humidity can also weaken your Arlo Go’s LTE connection. - Check the LTE signal strength in the place where you want to put your Arlo Go camera.
The easiest way to do this is to go there and check the signal strength on a mobile phone that uses the same cellular network (Arlo Mobile service plans use the AT&T cellular network). If signal strength is good enough, you can set up your Arlo Go camera and look at your Arlo Go’s signal strength in the camera’s settings.
After your camera is set up, follow these steps to see your Arlo Go’s signal strength:- Launch the Arlo app or log in to your Arlo account at my.arlo.com.
- Tap or click Settings and select your Arlo Go camera from the list of devices.
- Scroll down to the GENERAL section.
LTE signal strength displays in this section. Make sure to place your Arlo Go in an area where it has at least three bars of signal strength. If you place your Arlo Go camera in an area with low signal strength, your Arlo Go’s battery life is much shorter because your camera spends so much time trying to connect to the network.
- Make sure that your Arlo Go is at least 6.5 feet (2 meters) away from any major electrical equipment, large metal or concrete objects, or other sources of signal interference.
Note: As long as you are using your Arlo Go in the United States, you do not need to turn on roaming unless a representative from your service provider instructs you to turn it on. Some service providers do not allow roaming. In cases where roaming is allowed, it comes with additional charges and often requires additional services from your service provider.
