What do the different LED behaviors on my Arlo camera mean?
This article applies to:
To determine the status of your Arlo camera, refer to the LED on the front face of the camera.
Arlo Ultra, Ultra 2, Pro 3, Pro 3 Floodlight Camera, and Pro 4 LED Patterns
Solid blue. The camera is connected to power.
Note: The camera's "Battery Charged" LED can be turned off in Device Settings. For more information, visit: How do I turn the Arlo camera Battery Fully Charged LED off?
Slow blinking blue. The camera is pairing with an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station, or with your Wi-Fi network.
Fast blinking blue. The camera has paired with an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station, or with your Wi-Fi network.
Slow blinking amber.
- The camera cannot be found, is out of range, or some other connection error occurred during the pairing process.
- The camera battery is low.
Fast blinking amber. The camera failed to sync with the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station, or with your Wi-Fi network.
Alternating blue and amber. A firmware update is in progress. DO NOT TURN THE CAMERA OFF.
Off. The camera is powered off, has less than 10% battery remaining, or the LED has been disabled in Device Settings.
Arlo Pro 5S LED Patterns
Solid blue. The camera is connected to power.

Slow blinking blue. The camera is pairing with an Arlo SmartHub or Base Station.
Slow breathing blue. The camera is pairing using SecureLink.
Fast blinking blue.
- For Cameras paired to Arlo SmartHub or Base station: The camera is connected tothe Arlo SmartHub or Base Station.
- For Cameras paired via Wi-Fi: The Camera is connected to the Wi-Fi network.
Note: If your Camera has been removed from the Arlo Secure App and still gives a fast blinking blue light when powered on, then the camera needs to be factory reset before onboarding again. For instructions on how to factory reset your Arlo camera.
Blinking amber. The camera is out of range, a connection error has occurred during pairing, or the camera batteries are low.
Blinks amber four times then stops. Camera factory reset triggered.
Alternating blue and amber. A firmware update is in progress. DO NOT TURN THE CAMERA OFF.
Off. The camera is powered off, has less than 10% battery remaining, or the LED has been disabled in Device Settings.
Arlo Go 2 LED Patterns
Solid blue. The camera is connected to power.

Slow blinking blue.
- The camera is attempting to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
- The camera is ready to scan the QR code.
Fast blinking blue.
- The camera is establishing a Wi-Fi or LTE network connection.
- The camera charging cable is plugged in to a power adapter or the camera is connected to the optional Arlo Solar Panel VMA5600 (sold separately).
Solid amber. The camera does not detect an activated SIM card in its SIM card slot if LTE is the default connection.
Single blink or double blinking amber every 60 seconds. The battery charge is low.
- A single blink every 60 seconds indicates a low battery charge.
- A double blink every 60 seconds indicates a critical battery charge level.
Fast blinking amber. The camera did not connect to a Wi-Fi network or did not connect to the LTE network.
Alternating blue and amber. A firmware update is in progress. DO NOT TURN THE CAMERA OFF.
Arlo Essential Indoor Camera LED Patterns
Solid blue. The camera is armed.
Note: The camera's LED can be turned off in Device Settings.
Slow blinking blue. The camera is connecting to a network.
Fast blinking blue. The camera is successfully paired with a Wi-Fi network.
Solid amber. An internet connectivity error occurred.
Slow blinking amber. A setup error occurred, or the camera fails to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
Slow blinking with shutter closed. The camera is offline.
Alternating blue and amber. A firmware update is in progress. DO NOT TURN THE CAMERA OFF.
Off and shutter closed. The camera is disarmed.
Arlo Pro 2, Arlo Pro, Arlo Essential, and Arlo Wire-Free LED Patterns
Slow blinking blue. The camera is syncing with the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station.
Fast blinking blue. The camera has synced with the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station.
Slow blinking amber. The camera batteries are low.
Fast blinking amber. The camera failed to sync with the Arlo SmartHub or Base Station.
Alternating blue and amber. A firmware update is in progress. DO NOT TURN THE CAMERA OFF.
Off. The camera is powered off or has less than 10% battery remaining.
Arlo Go LED Patterns
Solid blue.
- The camera is registered and is connected to the mobile network.
- The battery is fully charged.
Very slow blinking blue. The camera is powering on.
Slow blinking blue. The camera is ready to scan the QR code.
Fast blinking blue.
- The camera is connected to the cloud.
- A compatible charger is connected.
Solid amber.
- No SIM card is installed, or the SIM card is damaged.
- During a sync, the battery charge is low.
- During the motion detection test, motion is detected.
Slow blinking amber. The battery level is low.
Blinking amber. Mobile network coverage is not available.
Double blinking amber. The battery level is so low that it is critical.
Fast blinking amber.
- The camera is connected to the cellular network, but it cannot connect to the cloud.
- During a QR code scan, the scan failed.
- The USB charging cable or adapter is incompatible
Alternating blue and amber. A firmware update is in progress. DO NOT TURN THE CAMERA OFF.
Alternating blue and purple. The camera is connecting to the cellular network and the cloud.
Alternating amber and purple. The SD card type is invalid.
Off. The camera is powered off or has less than 10% battery remaining.
Arlo Q and Q Plus LED Patterns
Solid blue. The camera is powered on and is connected to Arlo servers.
Slow blinking blue. The camera is connecting to a network.
Fast blinking blue. The camera is connecting to Arlo servers.
Solid amber. The camera is booting up.
Slow blinking amber. The camera is powered on and is ready for setup.
Fast blinking amber. The camera is not connected to a Wi-Fi network yet.
Alternating blue and amber. A firmware update is in progress. DO NOT TURN THE CAMERA OFF.
Solid purple. The camera is connected to a Wi-Fi network, but not connected to the Internet.

Blinking purple. The camera is too far away from the router.
Off. The camera is powered off.
Arlo Baby LED Patterns
Solid blue. The camera is powered on and connected to the Internet.

Fast blinking blue for three seconds. The camera was just connected to a charger.
Solid amber. The camera is booting up.
Double blink amber every 10 seconds. The battery charge is low.
Fast blinking amber. The camera is not connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Alternating blue and amber. A firmware update is in progress. DO NOT TURN THE CAMERA OFF.
Solid purple. The camera is connected to a Wi-Fi network but is not connected to the Internet.
