How can I ensure my Arlo camera doesn’t disconnect from WiFi?

1. Make sure your battery is always charged (before mounting, and recharge regularly)
2. Place the camera where you get a good WiFi Signal strength. The number of bars in this icon () shows the signal strength. Make sure that your cameras have three or four bars of signal strength in the area that you want to place them. You can also go into your camera settings (⚙️) -> Device utilities -> Camera Positioning -> Video Bandwidth (strong suggested).
3. Don’t have too many interferences between the AP and Camera. Interferences include unusually thick walls and ceilings, Brick, Concrete, Stucco, Stone Ceramic, Glass, especially mirrors, Metal, Large quantities of water, such as the water in a fish tank or water heater, multiple floors
4. Compared to standard home WiFi, adding a SmartHub / Base Station can add additional range

Where should I mount my Arlo Camera?

1. Choose between a magnetic and screw mount, they can both be used in or outside. The magnetic mount gives easy access for frequent charging (if your camera is placed in a high traffic area). 2. You can position our current range of outdoor cameras anywhere, no need to shelter them from the weather. They are IP65 Certified, can withstand heat, cold, full rain or full sun, -20 to 45 degree Celsius.

How can I set up my Arlo Camera to get the best battery life?

1. Ensure you have good signal strength
2. Optimize App Settings: Adjust “Best Battery life”, Video Recording Length, Audio Recording, Reduced Sensitivity, Spotlight - on/off
3. Optimise usage: Point the camera to the most important area you want to cover, ideally not with too much ongoing movement as this will trigger the camera to record frequently and drain the battery. Use modes including geofencing and scheduling to set certain cameras to arm only when you're not home or at night
